The Egypt Game by Zilpha Keatley Snyder

The Egypt Game is a book about a girl named April Hall and a girl named Melanie Ross. April Hall lives with her mother named Dorothea in Hollywood but her mother is going on a tour so she sent her daughter to stay with her grandmother named Caroline in Caroline's apartment building called Casa Rosada. Melanie also lives in Casa Rosada With her mom, dad and little brother named Marshall. Melanie and April soon start up the Egypt Game in a store owners backyard that everyone calls the Professor. The Egypt Game includes many different ceremonies, an alphabet they make up, and playing as Egyptian priestesses. Soon there are more players of the Egypt Game and the story unrolls from there.

I think The Egypt Game was a terrific book and it made me want to find out more about ancient Egypt and the Egyptian gods. It switches from Melanie's view to April's view.

I recommend this book to people ages 10 and up. -Tess (Age 9)
